Thread: Enabling Italics, Underline on Emacs, Xterm and Putty
i'm using ubuntu (11.04 server edition) virtual machine development environment. doesn't have desktop environment since don't think necessary , want keep lightweight. i'm accessing via ssh putty on windows 7. grew fond of emacs 24 ide still want use inside terminal.
enabled 256 color version of xterm render emacs 24 themes properly, terminal doesn't render comments in italics , classes/functions/methods underlined declared on theme code. noticed bold font style works after enabling in putty.
tried changing terminal-type string in putty rxvt-unicode no avail. tried other terminal emulators securecrt , forks puttycyg , kitty since noticed putty doesn't display fonts in italics general font setting.
tried vim , other systems options , configurations , didn't work.
there way achieve this? how?
thank you.
