URL's not working without index.php added to them - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
so setting site , having constant battle url's not working without index.php added them.
joomla 3.x , iis 6, know iis 7 minimum requirement hosting provider assures me works.
i have changed htaccess.txt .htaccess, seo urls turned on, url rewriting turned on.
yesterday working fine, changed nothing overnight , won't work without adding index.php url again.
what doing wrong? it's frustrating.
welcome joomla forum!
.htaccess meant apache webserver, , not work on iis.
if want use iis webserver joomla 3.x, you'll need @ least iis7.
for iis7 you'll need web.config, see http://docs.joomla.org/enabling_search_ ... endly_(sef)_urls#iis_7
however seems method run .htaccess on iis6 called ionics isapi rewrite filter, see: http://iirf.codeplex.com/
installing & setting might hassle , "mainstream support end date" microsoft of iis6 has passed, , "extended support end date" (whatever may be) ended in year,
it's recommended upgrade webserver iis7
(or switch excellent open source webserver alternatives apache or nginx)
