Thread: Evince Failure: dconf?
hi everyone,
*was* running 10.04 on laptop , had problems evince. not open document, either nautilus or terminal. "loading" indefinitely. use xpdf or gv or acroread on these files, evince problem.
did "fresh install" 11.04, kept home partition same. evince still not work, won't open , gives me error message:
i have spent time debugging this, have seen nothing change:code:ackey@whobuntu:~$ evince ** error:dconfcontext.c:29:dconf_context_get: assertion failed: (thread != null) aborted
- a new account on same computer: evince works
- installing dconf or dconf-tools: no change
- removing folder .gnome2/evince : no change
i'm pretty sure has configuration file somewhere, given problem persisted through "fresh" install , new user sees working evince.
can try next? prefer evince other options, don't want start fresh user account , lose of settings.
double clicking on document open (this improvement on how behaving on previous ubuntu install) same error terminal - not opening.
cause evince not open terminal (with or without file passed it) when open double clicking on file or typing "evince" in alt-f2 dialog?
