Thread: Starting File Manager Windows Opening, nothing else works
hi,
have ubuntu 3 partition disk 1 partition ubuntu use. few hours ago, when system idle, moved mouse after time stuck on black screen , there no prompt password. powered off after time.
when powered on back, found following error:
mount: mounting /dev on /root/dev failed: no such file or directory
mount: mounting / sys/ on root/sys failed: no such file or directory
mount: mounting /proc on /root/proc failed: no such file or dirctory
target filesystem doesn't have /sbin/init.
no init found. try passing init= boot arg
busybox v1.10.2 (ubuntu 1:1.10.2.2ubuntu7) built-in shell (ash)
(initramfs)
regular, or @ least seen n solved thing. further when tried boot live cd, hitting strange issue. there window says 'starting file manager' comes up, , there hundreds of such windows in minute. start disappearing, , whatever trying open (terminal here, can try else) gets closed.
please help.
if there's problem both installed version, , live cd, may hardware issue? have tried starting either a) hard drives unplugged rule them out interference issue, or b) different live cd?
