Thread: Microphone Static

i bought new laptop , installed ubuntu onto it. working fine except microphone. every time try record, there's bunch of static in background. i've tried changing sliders on "alsamixer", helps little bit, never goes away. know it's not hardware problem because clear on windows (i'm dual booting).

i've used ubuntu lot in past, don't know audio drivers, or how figure out 1 i'm using. laptop acer as5750-9851 , i'm using ubuntu 11.04, 64 bit. nice.

did install "pulse audio"??, might want try have had problems mic sorted out pulse!!.

there number of packages install, go "paman" , rest of packages should auto-select!!.

ps: if using skype, don't let skype control settings!!, can in skype sttings manager.

Multilanguage infinite redirect loop error. - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

lately i've been trying out lots of old windows games (on cd's bought legally) have lying around on wine heck of it. 5 or 6 years old , many don't run on windows 7! been hit or miss. what's worked reliably install game on old windows xp desktop, this: copy relevant folder in program files (for example: c:/program files/warcraft iii) of windows computer usb stick. paste in linux directory (anywhere) configure wine d: drive point @ d: drive, ex: /media/warcraft iii/ find promising .exe file in folder copied windows (like warcraft3.exe) , execute wine. , works charm games! however, in ubuntu think i've installed (while running linux, put cd drive, open installer, install) , run 1 program in linux successfully. happens this: cd automatically mounts, , configure wine's d: drive in /media/warcraft iii/ i'll run installer.exe wine wait game install, seems work fine next time try start game, says "please insert warcraft iii cd...
