Thread: My number 1 tip after 4 years of Ubuntu

it took me long time learn one, here is:

never install non lts version.

after wasting many hours of life trying make amd64 installs work properly, it's lts good.

if you're starting out ubuntu (particularly amd64 / ati graphics), favour , don't tempted fancy new features in bleeding edge version. chances (unless have common hardware) won't work properly. stick lts version people have worked out kinks.

i applies 64bit users , non-tech savvy people. 64bit versions seem more buggy 32 bit versions. , if new linux still computers in general, can still handle non-lts version. it's still not bad advice. although applications don't upgraded (like firefox), fixable adding ppa. there dependency issues well.
