Thread: Need help with a possibly failed mdadm array!
so have server 15*1.5tb hard drives configured 1 raid6 array in mdadm. last weekend unthinkable happened, 3 drives failed (we think card on overheated). after powering down few hours 15 drives came online , readable, however, mdadm refused mount array 3 of drives out of sync. assemble array 12 of 15 drives , refuse start. after playing around few hours did has worked before on raid0 arrays,
mdadm --create /dev/md0 --assume-clean -l6 -n15 /dev/sd[b-p]
complained 15 drives part of array , (somewhat stupidly) said continue anyway. tried mount array , received "bad superblock" warning. let xfs tools try , repair filesystem, after several hours hadn't found working superblock. have since had 1 drive show failed again.
there command or program might save me losing data? data should still on disks untouched, i've modified superblocks. furthermore, array not written often, it's guaranteed of failed during read.
appreciated, thank you.
