Thread: Keeping desktop settings after reinstall?

hi everyone,

folders hold user desktop settings?

following folders appear important, wanted make sure:

/home/user/.gnome2/panel2.d/default/launchers
/home/user/.icons
/home/user/.themes/20110629
/home/user/.fonts

there other folders i'm missing?

i'm pretty picky placement of launchers , folders have, fonts, etc.

i'm using ubuntu 10.04 gnome.

/home contains /home//lost+found , /home/(username1), , if there other users on machine, home folders in /home/(their-username) folder.

keep settings 1 install another, best place /home in separate drive partition operating system. can copy /home partition prior reinstall. there tutorials moving /home. google search "ubuntu _____" filling in blank whatever search terms need.
