Thread: Read Kindle in Ubuntu using Kindle Cloud

i'm sure of aware of new kindle cloud service available amazon. of not, absence of kindle software linux has come end , can enjoy kindle content in linux. if main reason weren't switching over, let me hear "hallelujah!"

there 1 requirement kindle cloud: have have google chrome (or safari, hey, we're using ubuntu, not apple). not downside lot of us, chrome common (and excellent) browser. have installed on laptop, , have installed in chrome angry birds app kindle cloud app. lot of other apps, free , paid, available, turning chrome android console. great idea!

upsides: read kindle content on linux computer. main reason why keeping windows 7 on hard drive. have wiped off , running ubuntu, again , (until required school use windows 7, likely). particular service important me since kindle e-reader flimsy (it breaks way easily, myself , wife can attest after having broken 2 of them in on year). kindle cloud has decent ui clean cut, easy use, decently fast, , feature-rich.

downsides: don't keep book files on own computer per-se. however, kindle cloud support reading offline (using html5), which, unless you're planning on doing unethical, makes entire argument moot.

so, enjoy reading , cheap books , thank amazon finding way appease both copyright holders , end users @ same time, , coming senses , extending support linux users should have done right beginning.

wow, thank info, use amazon.uk when in europe, never saw possibility mentioned. own lot of kindle books , netbook runs on ubuntu, used run on windows 7, became slow purposes, "upgraded" ubuntu. since write screenplays , novels on thing, lot of info around me , kindle great solution (cheap writer's guides )
took few seconds install in chromium, pefect ! !!
