Joomla Beginner + GoDaddy Can't add new menu items - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i manually installed joomla onto godaddy. website , semi-operational. can not add new menu items. receive 500 error code: internal server error
strangely can add new articles, new users , new menus. can copy save copy current menu item , alter it. tried install jck manager , received same error code. yet jck panel showing up. if run system check on same 500 code. can't change editor jck.

i have reviewed posts here , have tried of suggestions .htaccess, web config, changing permissions on files. account uses microsoft iis/8.0 running under parallels plesk, php 4.2.5

i have no idea wrong , how correct it. thanks.

99% of time people don't take correct steps in joomla. in case, how trying create new menu item?

to create new menu item, steps follows:

1) create article , save it. create article, go to:

content >> article manager >> add new article

2) give title , save if contains nothing (save & close button).

3) go menus >> main menu >> add new menu item

4) click on select (as shown in picture attached) , choose articles >> single article

5) give menu title;

6) save (press green button)

7) view site refreshing page if site open.
