Thread: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd

hi,

know common problem many posts on forum , elsewhere on internet haven't found solution.

i'm using western digital 2 tb external usb hard drive dell inspiron 2400 pc running ubuntu 10.10 2.6.35-30-generic kernel.

writing large mp3 files external drive being encoded in real time line in (with ecasound , lame), , once every 10 times, file fails recorded due error dmesg | tail:

code:
[83525.136028] usb 1-2: reset high speed usb device using ehci_hcd , address 2
i've tried changing /sys/block/sdb/device/max_sectors sorts of different sizes (64,128,256,1024) doesn't help.

i've tried
code:
sudo mount -o remount,sync /dev/sdb1
didn't work either.
