Thread: Grub doesn't recognise WIndows 7


hi guys,

complete newbie ubuntu , first time user, want try out , use useful stuff.

have 3 hard drives, 1 windows 7 (my primary), 1 media/downloads etc , 1 on have installed ubuntu on today.

installation went good, except when reconnected other 2 hard drives , set ubuntu drive load first, grub doesn't pick windows 7.

have solution this? couldn't find on net related scenario.

did read quite few threads, , people have been asking see sort of script on bios/start details. here mine:

does mean drive windows disconnected when installed ubuntu? if so, grub installer have been unaware of presence of windows , not have included windows entry in main grub.cfg configuration file.

set bios boot ubuntu drive, keep other 2 drives connected, boot ubuntu, open terminal, and:

sudo update-grub
if i've misunderstood you, have rest of boot info script output, please? 90% missing! , please enclose in code tags, not quote tags - correct formatting.
