when saving .ai format...
if .ai document linked indesign document, indesign more responsive if .ai file saved without compression? (note: question indesign's responsiveness in relation .ai file; not indesign's responsiveness application settings such proxy settings in within display performance section of settings.)
i have large indesign document has hundreds of placed .ai files. in past, have typically saved .ai files compression (probably due being suggested setting). understand should simple answer re-saving/relinking uncompressed since performance issues linked other things (many hi-res .tiffs per page) well. since isn't great concern, thought i'd start asking first.
my performance better once was, not smooth should considering significant investment in performance hardware (late model 8 core processor, 24 gb ram, quadro nvs dedicated graphics hardware acceleration). following things have done performance:
display images "typical" display setting
turn off preflight of document
turn off dynamic spell check
turn off thumnail preview in pages panel
