Thread: Lost all /etc/samba files

i had troubles on samba, re-installed it.

after uninstalled samba, noticed old /etc/samba folder/files left, deleted of them. installed samba, however, no /etc/samba files installed.

how can generate default samba configuration files??

default file still in /usr/share/samba/smb.conf
?

copy /usr/share/samba/smb.conf /etc/samba/smb.conf

code:
sudo cp /usr/share/samba/smb.conf /etc/samba/smb.conf
