Thread: Kubuntu 11.04 Grub2 Dual Boot Problem

hello,
have dual booted ubuntu many times before windows 7 , has worked without issue, time struggling windows boot. have kubuntu 11.04 installed alongside windows 7. partitions on drive laid out follows:

sda1 windows system reserved (300m)
sda2 windows 7
sda3 swap
sda4 (lvm)
-sda5 /boot
-sda6 /

in retrospect suppose should have put swap , / inside lvm , /boot primary partition, if can work have best.

ran

code:
sudo grub-probe -t device /boot/grub
and confirms grub2 installed on sda5.

problem...
grub2 setup load windows 7, , there entry in list windows 7 (loader on /dev/sda1). installer created automatically. when choose option in bootloader though, screen blinks black (as if chainloading windows) , grub menu comes (no errors though). seems if windows chainloader entry somehow pointing @ grub itself.

know work if reinstalled windows bootloader, changed around linux partitions, , reinstalled kubuntu (this time bootloader on mbr), able salvage install of kubuntu if possible.

Multilanguage infinite redirect loop error. - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

lately i've been trying out lots of old windows games (on cd's bought legally) have lying around on wine heck of it. 5 or 6 years old , many don't run on windows 7! been hit or miss. what's worked reliably install game on old windows xp desktop, this: copy relevant folder in program files (for example: c:/program files/warcraft iii) of windows computer usb stick. paste in linux directory (anywhere) configure wine d: drive point @ d: drive, ex: /media/warcraft iii/ find promising .exe file in folder copied windows (like warcraft3.exe) , execute wine. , works charm games! however, in ubuntu think i've installed (while running linux, put cd drive, open installer, install) , run 1 program in linux successfully. happens this: cd automatically mounts, , configure wine's d: drive in /media/warcraft iii/ i'll run installer.exe wine wait game install, seems work fine next time try start game, says "please insert warcraft iii cd...
