Thread: Setting PATH environment variable
greetings ubuntards,
pretty new linux liking far.
anyway since i've started i've found kind of difficult install software not found in software center.
trying download programming ide called jgrasp. guess it's accessible wine, when try run it, tells me this:
[unable locate java executable. java 1.5 or igher must installed run jgrasp.
if java installed, may beed add bin directory of installation path environment variable.]
i've done in windows , searched how in linux. website told me had open file in terminal
"vi ~/.bash_profile"
, enter this
"export java_home=<path>/bin/java"
"export path=$path:<path>/bin"
well, not not know right path is, when tried saving *thought* right information, couldn't figure out how save file.
other information: netbeans works fine don't as jgrasp. i'm having problems downloading other programs i'll start this.
thanks,
elseven
