Thread: Compiling lirc for Beagleboard (armel)

hi,

i'm running ubuntu on beagleboard xm, , ok more or less.

want build server application, interface serial infra red transceiver.
i'm stuck when trying compile lirc setup.

running kernel compiled robert nelson (http://elinux.org/beagleboardubuntu).
realized need sources kernel, able compile lirc, downloaded those.
able recompile kernel (to .config file), , when try compile lirc, seem run strange error:
code:
scripts/genksyms/genksyms: 1: syntax error: "(" unexpected
the whole thing can found here http://pastebin.com/x2w1vxcp

there parameters haven't set, compile ?
(though tool chain downloaded aptitude, , can compile&execute server application fine)

first beagle project, , i'm still new whole building kernel modules etc, please don't hesitate advice simple might have overlooked

in advance!

nobody ?
