Plugin to export XMP

i'm new lightroom plugin development, quite familiar lightroom application, sql, , lua. dislike how lightroom not allow xmp sidecar files jpgs, though situation hardly occurs, bothers me. so, decided try make plugin , although documentation pretty good, there aren't many forums ask help.

 

here think need know how do:

 

1. is there way of getting @ sqlite database directly?
   
   the sqlite table adobe_additionalmetadata has xmp text column. seems simple export .xmp file. don't see way of accessing via lr api though. access each develop setting individually sucks because i'd have construct xml file, , then, wouldn't able access snapshots.
   
   
2. is there way trigger export of xmp file?
   
   it seems though lr api works off context menu events, not lightroom events.

it's gonna hard build xmp scratch, plugin, me-thinks. you've noticed, database not accessible, except in limited fashion via sdk. may worth considering extraction of xmp jpg instead, or starting point, via exiftool, xemp does. use keyboard injection trigger xmp save, technique leaves lot desired (doesn't work reliably). if hell-bent on doing scratch, think you'd have read catalog upon startup, or inactive catalog of catalog after startup... note: easy create xmp non-plugin app without lightroom running, since xmp there @ ready, not sure issues there might in assuring freshness...
