Thread: Where Does One Begin in this Linux World??

hi all, new world on linux. , mean new! bought first linux magazine today , have been reading web trying head around jargon of distros, desktops, gnome, linux, ubuntu etc etc, , how fits together. first few questions simple.

i'm running windows 7 64bit now, buy whole new pc install (linux?)- i'm not sure exactly. or install new external hard drive that's plugged current pc? if so, 2 operating systems have nervouse breakdown competing each other , not fire?

how safely play linux operating system while w7 on current pc?

i'm sorry being real newbie, i'm looking basic hesad's-up guidance. appreciate feedback guys. many thanks.

hi, don't have buy new pc.

can use bit of space on current 1 linux. ubuntu installer you.

if use external hard drive, computer not boot unless plugged in. if not problem fine.

can try booting cd. give few hours , see if it.

if not sure steps in installation post here.

important stuff first.

Multilanguage infinite redirect loop error. - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

trim media limit reached

hello,   i have installed adobe premiere cs 6....and have trouble videos transitions----->cross disolve. normally not problem, when drag , drop videos transitions, can't drag transitions longer in sequence without comment :trim media limit reached.... so can't work on transition.........   how can solve it, should don't find it...   thanks help.......... you cant make transition past end of source clip.  ie dont have enough media.   transitions made overlapping media .   someone post image illustrates this.
