Thread: Install software on external drive


hi,

there way use apt-get install software on /media/usb or place that, instead of root fs?

thanks.

dont know if apt-get can forced it, if can, depends on software have in mind.
if software single executable , libs depends on installed locally, might work.
on 32bit ubuntu, have sotware not repositories here , delivered folder few things it , work way.

software packages here install libs place /usr/lib/.... , other things other places, not simple have basicaly 'portable' apps ubuntu.

there find important programs browsers, mail clients , similar can 'installed' separate drive , might work on many mainstream linux distros.
