converting ink drawing to bitmap

hello. comic artist , scan lot of black , white line work. company working want me send scanned black , white pages in bitmap mode instead of grayscale. problem having line work becoming pixelated when converting bitmap. there can fix problem.

 

program- photoshop cs6

have scanned @ appropriate size , resolution?

if not upscaling , filtering grayscale image prior conversion might somewhat.

 

bitmap (1bit) makes sense because unlike grayscale images can utilize printing device’s full resolution.
