Thread: expand raid array. now have "no space left on device"

afternoon all,

have been using natty (11.04) while 3disk raid5 via mdadm , have been ok.

have stuck in disk using:

mdadm /dev/md0 --add /dev/sdb, mdadm --grow /dev/md --raid-devices=4

resize2fs /dev/md0

seemed ok until tried "tail -f /var/log/syslog" , given:

tail: cannot watch `/var/log/syslog': no space left on device

df -h gives me loads of space free
df -i no problems

appreciated have expensive lump parts sitting here doing nothing.

thanks

richard
