Premiere Pro CS4 (& others) crashing after Avid 6.5 installed

not question, posting reference in case encounters same problem.

 

i upgraded avid media composer 6.0 6.5 other day. still use production premium cs4 including premiere, discovered morning program crashed before got far "new project" dialog box.  reboots didn't help.

 

i noticed last element flash on screen before crash squeezeexporter plugin. has sorenson squeeze, avid equivalent adobe's media encoder, , upgraded part of avid package.

 

so found squeezeexporter.prm file , quarantined away native folder, , premiere loads fine. there kind of conflict new version of squeeze has been resolved!

i have seen similar, , within adobe stable. years ago, had adobe cs 2 production studio. installed adobe premiere elements 4, handled consumer footage better, installation killed in cs 2. luckily, not first encounter that, , adobe had kb article on issue. me, simple repair install each program in production studio. programs, not adobe, can see how might fritz things up.

 

now, when says prpro cs 4 has stopped, i'll ask if have, , have updated avid.

Multilanguage infinite redirect loop error. - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

lately i've been trying out lots of old windows games (on cd's bought legally) have lying around on wine heck of it. 5 or 6 years old , many don't run on windows 7! been hit or miss. what's worked reliably install game on old windows xp desktop, this: copy relevant folder in program files (for example: c:/program files/warcraft iii) of windows computer usb stick. paste in linux directory (anywhere) configure wine d: drive point @ d: drive, ex: /media/warcraft iii/ find promising .exe file in folder copied windows (like warcraft3.exe) , execute wine. , works charm games! however, in ubuntu think i've installed (while running linux, put cd drive, open installer, install) , run 1 program in linux successfully. happens this: cd automatically mounts, , configure wine's d: drive in /media/warcraft iii/ i'll run installer.exe wine wait game install, seems work fine next time try start game, says "please insert warcraft iii cd...
