Premiere Pro CS 5.5 KEEPS Crashing. Driving me crazy. PLEASE HELP!!


hello out there...

 

for reason unbeknownst me, every time try , apply effects (audio or video), premiere pro crashes. started week ago, went home thanksgiving, hoping somehow have changed, yet did not. wishful thinking failed me time. tried bring footage new project, same thing happened. crashes come within 5-30 seconds of me clicking on effects pallette, meaning crashes before can try apply effect.

 

i'm running student edition of ppro cs 5.5.2 (meaning can't update 6 see if solve problems) , i'm running on macbook pro (os 10.7.5)

 

the footage i'm using in avchd codec (.mts files).

 

the error message reads: "sorry serious error has occurred requires adobe premiere pro shut down. attempt save current project."

 

i not have 3rd party codecs installed , not running other programs simultaneously save maybe chrome or spotify.

 

not using mercury playback engine gpu acceleration or i/o hardware know of.

 

any thoughts appreciated. absolutely driving me crazy , can't finish project without using effects!!

here's little update...

 

since hadn't heard on discussion thread (adobe rep or otherwise) tried follow adobe via customer service number. first time attempted opted have customer service representative call me instead of holding. not exceeded amount of time said call me in, put me on hold again when called me again. call somehow disconnected hour of waiting time elapsed , didn’t talk real person.

 

tried again next day. not given option have call back. waited 20 minutes more stated hold time. call disconnected. have professional life can’t keep waiting around these guys.

 

tried 1 final time day after. opted have call back. estimated wait time call 30-40 minutes. took them 1 hour , 30 minutes call back, guess what, machine put me on hold again… on 55 minutes minutes. have life other obligations besides waiting adobe reps, had go.

 

i have sense of humor, can laugh @ absolute ridiculousness of of this, people have right know absolutely terrible quality of customer service.
