ok, buying uncle new netbook/notebook. has never used computer before, isn't tech savvy. needs 3g modem he'll taking around him. so, i'm asking telstrq bigpond elite usb modem work ubuntu? can set up first off, after that, needs work without problems. unfortunately optus , other carriers aren't option, because in northern territory (or down of world) telstra has reliable signal.

mine works "out of box" in ubuntu (desktop) , linux mint 9 (laptop) speed amazing such compact device on desktop roof mounted yagi.
