Joomla! 2.5.20 to 3.3 - help to do this? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i have big community not-for-profit community site , wonder whether should upgrade.
by nature of site no profits generated need able upgrade @ little cost possible.

the first question whether can myself.
1: realise need remove extensions not compatible 3+
2: php version 5.4
3: mysql version mysql5

because many hundreds of hits day want able move smartly , little problem possible.
? else need make smooth can?
? have idea how cost me have me?

even wise guidance appreciated ;)

using akeeba, make copy of site , install on local pc using wamp or xampp server (i prefer uniform server).
first, review system requirements joomla 3.x , make sure server environment meets requirements.
second, make sure extensions (especially, templates) joomla 3.x compatible.
third, create test site , test upgrade on test site first.
fourth, consult trusted developer if you’re not 100% anything.
fifth, make full backup of site (files , database).
once ready, go joomla! update component. click on options , change setting short term support. save. should notified of availability of joomla 3.x. click button install. clear browser’s cache make sure see latest changes. that’s it!

finally, double check , make sure working properly.

upgrade test site 3.3 , verify working. once have checked out, same on live site.
