if place ld_preload=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype in launchers, get:
failed load child process
"ld_preload=" (no such file or directory)

if write same ld_preload line terminal, skype works. not understanding using launchers?

using ubunto 11.04 in dell d600

you have export environment variable after setting it.
