Illustrator file prep for print Tips ( do's and don'ts )
hello folks,
i started using illustrator create illustrations. many years used photoshop exclusively.
i have concerns , hoping can clarify regarding preparing cmyk files send printshop processing.
i understand can print specs printshop , that, however, concerns have more how handle adobe illustrator objects such "brush strokes", gradients, mesh objects, , transparency.
question:
1. need expand brush strokes or line paths prepare .eps file , avoid printing problems?
2. can mesh objects, transparencies, , gradients ( if needed ) avoid printing mishaps? or illustrator handle of when save file .eps?
3. else can share here?

no.

one thing make sure set raster resolution whatever appropriate. i'm guessing you'd want "high" resolution printing.

it's important discuss file parameters print vendor before start working on file. in doing, save ton of time , slew of problems. also, might want save copy pdf , open in either reader or acrobat , see get. way catch problems.
