Thread: Printing GUI Not Working

i hopping printing application problem.

when go system>administration>printing, nothing.

have found several possible solutions, these did not work me.

first, ubuntu bugs, following url: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...er/+bug/210738

bug 210738, file 04/02/2008, doesn't fix issue.

did getting following results running 'system-config-printer' in terminal:

next, googling "not defined in file libxml2.so.2 link time reference" yielded link ubuntu forums,

did not fix either

@ point ought mention can print existing printers, wanted add new printer.

have no idea when problem occurred, maybe when upgraded ubuntu 8.4 lts (hardy heron) ubuntu 10.4 lts, can't sure.

add printer followed link http://localhost:631/printers/ , able add new printer.

but, after said , done, think gui should work, if want ubuntu more ubiquitous on desktop.

you might want try reinstalling or upgrading cups..... might try searching software center printer gui.
