Thread: Wireless Internet Problem

hello, mstrz here. third ever thread, previous 2 having been answered 2 friendly gentlemen, , i'd keep pattern going. (ladies, feel free me out )

did full wipe/install of ubuntu 11.04 natty narwhal, , wifi internet support nil. nonexistent. strange thing is, works on brother's laptop, running exact same version, set exact same configuration. left-click on brother's internet icon, , boom, there's our internet, ready connected to.

there i'm doing wrong on laptop? have not changed settings or preferences, internet not there. know laptop has wireless internet capability, used 5 years before switched ubuntu. our internet not hidden or that, requires password, know. things i'm doing differently on laptop fact have options 'nomodeset' , 'acpi=off' enabled, both of required me boot.

ideas?

appreciated,

mstrz

hi, if click on network-manager there list of detected networks? on boxes should see section wired connection , below wireless networks surrounding you.
keep in mind need passkey access connection - in turn must enter @ least once.
