Thread: Minecraft suddenly slows to stop
well, here's keeps happening: i'll play minecraft (fast graphics, normal render distance) fine 30 minutes no problems. @ random (often when explore new areas, think) game becomes slow. if i'm walking around, i'll frozen in 1 place minute, jump 60 blocks ahead. jerky slow. down little xfce cpu graph , it'll using 100% of cpu (instead of usual 40-50%.
i'm using xubuntu 11.04 on dell d630 laptop nvidia card below. tried playing minecraft in windows 7, consistently caused graphics driver crash. reason, when played on ubuntu (i upgraded ubuntu 10.04) worked great.
if helps:
here's looks when run terminal. of initial errors pretty scary, said, works fine @ first. don't think printed new error messages when slowdown started.code:sudo lshw -class display *-display description: vga compatible controller product: g86m [quadro nvs 135m] vendor: nvidia corporation physical id: 0 bus info: pci@0000:01:00.0 version: a1 width: 64 bits clock: 33mhz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress vga_controller bus_master cap_list rom configuration: driver=nvidia latency=0 resources: irq:16 memory:f5000000-f5ffffff memory:e0000000-efffffff memory:f2000000-f3ffffff ioport:df00(size=128) memory:f4000000-f401ffff
