Thread: OpenGL/SDL programming tips for a newbie?
hello all,
have been wanting opengl programming while now, haven't been able find guide starting program opengl applications. did find opengl applications can crafted various programming languages (but c/c++ seems popular), , i've heard little bit sdl. think i've found guide writing sdl applications, wondering if sdl applications have compiled, , if so, how such (i image g++, right)?
in case of use, i'm pretty perl, , know little bit of c++, , bash.

i don't know perl, there appears decently mature wrapper library sdl bindings:

whichever language choose use, can expect import libraries in standard way language.
actual coding, if want use sdl, first figure out how make ogl drawing area , how send ogl code sdl. there should plenty of tutorials online. note now, people still teach ogl 2 while ogl 3 conceptually different. advice i've heard learn ogl 2 first, because understand ogl 3 better.
