use media queries for different style sheets?

i know question must asked time,  sorry :-).  have been working on site , have got great here 2 previous questions. ran onto , more last problem site. page writing band, alot of our fans , of the  members have  ipads, anodroids , soon. see, tested site , 800 x 600 ( know the res gets lower phones 320 norm,  , 1024 x 768 ipad think, lowest go on pc test) , had problems top of screen being chopped , of course left , right sides chopped. read on , found media queries call dfferent css sheets different resolutions.  way togo problem? when wrote page in 1280x1024,  did, thought prob. used resolution @ period in time, best resolution create in? in nut shell best way handle resolution issues , resolution should create in? past this.

keep in mind though, because resolution may prevalent, doesn't used often. here's mean that...

 

i experience, few people view on web maximized browser window (i can't bring mind time i've ever seen using browser full screen wasn't accident). allow browser take 80% or of screen real estate because need room click , forth between browser windows or other programs or desktop find files.

 

the nice thing media queries don't need worry because can make 1 1280x1024 people use whole screen. 1024x768 or 800 x 600 or 480 x 260, , other resolutions want design for.

 

it's how detailed want got on number of possibilities.
